We’ve been having the most gorgeous weather this week. I’m trying not to get attached because the temps are set to drop again next week. I’m fighting some seasonal allergies but don’t even care when I’m strolling around in 65 degree weather. This weekend we have a fun family event on the calendar and I’m excited to party with the Konters – we’re pretty awesome.

Friday was a rough day. A dear family friend passed away. It was sudden and completely unexpected. I had not spoken to her in years, but until we were around 13, we were the absolute best of friends who did everything together. We were born just 22 hours apart, and my mom even drove her mom to the hospital only to turn around and give birth herself. She was kind and brilliant and will be missed. After that news, I left work to find the subway shut down, which made me 30 minutes late to pick up V. By the time he was in bed, I was ready to disassociate with a good sushi order and some reality tv so that’s exactly what I did.

After just three lessons, Finn is moving up to the J2 swim class. I love seeing his progress – he’s made such headway in a short time. He doesn’t love the beach, but he’s a big pool kid so he’s thrilled about what this will mean for him come summer.

We take the city bus to school during the winter, just like much of the neighborhood kids. I love the days that it’s packed with his school friends – I call it party bus or Club CPE, much to Finn’s annoyance.
